1) Opening of the Conference by Dr. Silvestre Lacerda, Managing Director of IANTT and Dr. Jan Parmentier EurIndia Project coordinator at the University of Ghent, Belgium.

Speech of Her Excellency the Ambassador of India, Mme. Vijaya Latha Reddy.

2) History of Textile Trade India-Europe, 16th-18th centuries. Chairman: Dr. Kees Zandvliet.
  • “Cotton in Medieval and Early Modern South-India”: Dr. Eva De Clercq, Researcher of Indology Department at the University of Ghent, Belgium.

  • “The Dutch and the English trade at the Coromandel Coast, 17th – 18th c.”: Prof. Om Prakash, Co-Principal Investigator and Teacher, School of Economics, Delhi University, India.

  • “ The Ostenders and the Scandinavians trading in the Gulf of Bengal, 18th c.”: Dr. Jan Parmentier, Assistant Professor of Early Modern History Department at the University of Ghent, Belgium.

  • “Portuguese and Indian archives / a common heritage to be conserved : comparing case studies”: Dra. Conceição Casanova, Head of the Supporting Services and the Conservation Programme at the Tropical Research Institute of Portugal (IICT).

  • “Conservation and Restoration of Indian Textiles, 17th – 18th c.”: Dr. Teresa Pacheco Pereira, Director of Conservation at the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (MNAA), Lisbon, Portugal and Dr. Carmo Serrano, Researcher at the Estaçao Agronomica Nacional (EAN).
